Rowan Ricardo Phillips | Poet

July 18, 2020 in Season 1

Rowan Ricardo Phillips is an award-winning poet, writer, and translator who has published several books of poetry, such as Heaven (2015), and Living Weapon (2020), in addition to critical studies of literature, When Blackness Rhymes with Blackness (2010), a tennis memoir, published in 2018, The Circuit: A Tennis Odyssey, which won the PEN/ESPN Award for Literary Sports Writing, and other writings.

Traversing languages, genres and idioms with gusto, grace, and garrulity, Phillips limns heaven and earth to provide insight into the joys and foibles of the human condition at this precarious time of our existence.
