Youssef Nabil | Artist

July 09, 2020 in Season 1

Youssef Nabil is a photographer and filmmaker who combines the artistic and cultural traditions of his native Egypt and his adopted homes of New York City and Paris to create exquisitely conceived images. An example is his latest film I Saved My Belly Dancer (2015) with Salma Hayek and Tahar Rahim. By blending Occident and Orient in mutually empowering ways, Nabil’s photographs and films open our eyes to a forward-looking global vista where we can see ourselves reflected and improved.

Curated by Jean-Jacques Aillagon and Matthieu Humery, Youssef Nabil’s “Once Upon a Dream” will open to the public at Palazzo Grassi in Venice on July 11th.
